I began at the age of 45 shooting a boudoir session for myself. I had recently been divorced & always had a passion for modeling so I decided to give it a shot by starting with a boudoir shoot & I was hooked from there. The photographer who shot this series had been a model & talent scout, so she directed me to a few model sites to post some images on as a start. My career took off from there.
What excites you about modeling?
What I enjoy most is seeing exactly what I am capable of. Everyone has their insecurities & modeling has truly helped me overcome mine. The greatest pleasure is being able to post completely unedited images from a shoot (with the photographer's permission, of course). THAT, in itself, proves that I not only have the potential but that my passion for this art truly shines through. If I am able to create an image that I am comfortable showing others without any post production, I KNOW I have created something special!! I always strive to push myself a bit further in each & every shoot, especially when I work with the same photographer on multiple shoots. Each time, I push myself further whether it's regarding a pose, a look, an image....I BECOME what I am trying to convey.
Do you come from a background of training in the arts?
Not at all!! Lol!!!
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?
My favorite types of outfits to model in are basically those that consist of very little. I love shooting in lingerie; for me, the less there is, the sexier it is. One always has to keep enough covered to keep a mystery about what's underneath. I also enjoy shooting artistic nudes, but I am very particular as to whom I will shoot those with. That photographer has to have a strong background in that genre & we MUST be on the same page as far as poses & such. Regardless of what I shoot, I will always remain true to myself & who I am & that is a person of class & integrity. Lastly, I have started delving into fetish wear & I absolutely LOVE it!! My favorite type of outfit along those lines are those made of leather & chains.
What are your least favorites?
I really don’t have any least favorite outfits as I only shoot in what I enjoy. My photographer & I always plan our shoot far enough in advance so that we can discuss many different concepts & looks that we would like to achieve & we MUST be in agreement as to what I am going to wear. We pick what I am most comfortable in & I have never been in a position where I did not like what I shot in. I have shot in dresses, although not many, but it's great to have diversity in one's port. In fact, it's imperative to market yourself properly. I have yet to shoot in evening gowns, but I surely would love to. There's so much out there that I'd still like to shoot; creativity is key & I’m pretty much game for creative concepts. If someone hands me a burlap bag & can make me look spectacular in it, I'm all for it!! ;)
What is it about Tattoos that intrigues you?
The tattoos that I have all represent either myself and/or my kids, so they are all very sentimental to me. I can’t really explain what it is, but I find tattoos to be a turn on. Of course, ridiculous ones aren’t but I have seen some true & amazing art that people are wearing & I just really love it. I suppose it gives me a better feel for the person, who they are & what they are about.
Are there any other creative mediums you work in?
Not really.....I love to dance but never had formal training. I've always loved contemporary dance because it is an expression of the body & how it moves as well as freeing your emotions & allowing them to be seen through dance. I’m currently taking ballroom dance lessons, Latin type dances but my lessons have not been consistent enough for me to go into competition, although I would love to.
What kind of music do you like?
I enjoy any kind of music that makes me want to dance. Whether it's a slow, sensual dance or just jumping around like an idiot, I LOVE MUSIC!!! It is my saving grace. I turn to music to soothe my soul & based on my mood is how I decide what type of music I would prefer listening to. I’m not into country, hip hop or the screaming aspect of "rock"...that, to me, is not music. The older music from the 70's-80's is the absolute best!!
What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy meeting new people & socializing, I'm a huge pet lover & love to play with my animals. As I stated earlier, I love to dance & listen to music. For such a simple question, it's actually not that easy to answer because what I consider fun may not be for someone else, so I guess it's all relative. The most fun I have is just acting like a total goofball!!
